Dear Mr. Wilson:
I read in the January 24th Washington Post classified section of your need for a producer for one of your Melbourne area sites. I will move to the Melbourne area after graduation in May and believe that I have the necessary credentials for the project.
I have worked at various levels in the music industry during last four years. As you can see from my resume, I worked several years as guitar instructor and freelance musician.
In addition to this practical experience, I will complete requirements for Bachelor of Cultural Management degree in May. I am confident that my degree, along with my years of music industry experience, make me an excellent candidate for your job.
The Wilson Production Company projects are familiar to me, and my aspiration is to work for a company that has your excellent reputation. I would welcome the opportunity to interview with you. I will be in the Melbourne area during the week of April 12th and would be available to speak with you at that time. In the next week to ten days I will contact you to answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for your consideration.
Sincerely,
Ville Tomminen

Review: Miroslav Vitous ”Unirversal Syncopations ” (2003)
Ville Tomminen
Universal Syncopations is 13th studio album from jazz bass player and composer Miroslav Vitous.
Miroslav Vitous came to the U.S. in 1966, and quickly became a part of the New York jazz scene. Soon Vitous became founding member of the widely influential group, Weather Report. After he resigned from Weather Report and became solo artist he performed e.g. on Chick Corea's “Now He Sings, Now He Sobs” Blue Note album. Untill today Vitous has recorded 12 studio albums as a solo artist and band leader.
New Vitous album includes once again perhaps the biggest names alive in the jazz scene: Jan Garbarek: soprano & tenor saxophone, Chick Corea: piano, John McLaughlin: guitar and Jack DeJohnette: drums. This all-star line-up gives really their best on this album. E.g. Jan Garbarek’s playing on the first track “Bamboo Forrest” is warm and subtle yet so passionate. Jack DeJohnette keeps the palette together through the whole album and John McLaughling plays just like he did in Mahavishnu Orchestra’s Birds of Fire in 1973. How great is that?! Still I must say that the best part of this album is the delicate and sophistacated playing of the maestro him self. In the end one can only wonder the coherence of this group. Can jazz be any cooler than this?
